Digital Marketing Manager

SUMMARY              

The Digital Marketing Manager will develop, implement, track and optimize digital marketing communications across digital channels for Summerfest, the Summerfest Foundation and Milwaukee World Festival, Inc.  The position will work across the organization to create, monitor and continuously improve digital communication strategies to grow audience and financial results for Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. and Henry Maier Festival Park. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.                               

  • Provide functional expertise, and best practices and recommendations regarding the execution of digital marketing campaigns. Apply expertise to demonstrate how digital communications can improve the reach and enhance effectiveness to reach marketing and sales goals.
  • Gather, synthesize and apply digital insights to inform strategies for websites, social media and digital communication. Document, communicate and report results of strategies.
  • Develop campaign success metrics, and track performance against goals.
  • Design, build and oversee social media presence for Summerfest and other MWF-produced events.
  • Lead conversations with sponsors, media partners, vendors, etc. to guide digital communications toward mutually beneficial goals.
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize media spend and performance based on the insights.
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies, integrating event sponsor deliverables.
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.
  • Provide strategy and assist in placement of digital media advertising and promotion.
  • Assist in leading communication with outside agencies related to digital communications; collaborate with these agencies and other vendor partners and report to internal audiences.
  • Consistently evaluate emerging technologies for potential implementation; provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Proven working experience leading digital marketing, preferably five+ years with some personnel management experience
  • A BS/MS degree in marketing, advertising, entertainment or a related field
  • A positive, “can-do” attitude with a high level of customer service
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize and effectively communicate findings
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience in video production and editing
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Ability to manage complex tasks, challenging projects and competing deadlines concurrently
  • Project management skills and strong planning, organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent literacy, writing, editing, and proofing skills and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime
  • Ability to build and maintain cordial relationship with clients, peers and people at all levels, using diplomacy, judgment and interpersonal skills
  • An affinity for music, the performing arts and events is helpful 

Preferred:

  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Knowledge of the arts and the intellect and confidence to create dialogue about artistic product

Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator

SUMMARY                                       

Digital Content Coordinator will actively manage digital content and serve as the voice of Summerfest and other MWF-properties within public websites, actively engaging followers in a dialogue in an effort to transform visitors into advocates for the brand. This position will collaborate with all divisions of the company to create relevant content and interactive media experiences through organizational websites, with a focus on social media. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.                               

  • Manage day-to-day activities for Summerfest.com, related event websites and all social media. This includes tracking and analysis of social media conversations across various platforms, maintenance of social media sites and reputation management.
  • Develop innovative and creative media content across social media platforms; act as a social media administrator across all company social media platforms.
  • Be an advocate of Summerfest and related MWF-produced events in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues, and answering questions where appropriate.
  • Interface with event sponsors, partnering to develop creative content to meet their goals; track and report on results. Support social media fulfillment for sponsorship management.
  • Expand social media presence and platforms.
  • Create, edit, and produce short video content for Summerfest.com and social media properties.
  • Identify and engage influencers and brand champions to build loyalty and affinity to further enhance brand communication to our client’s audience.
  • Keep track of social media trends and competition.
  • Other duties as assigned.     

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • BS/MS degree in marketing, advertising, entertainment or a related field
  • At least two years of social media marketing experience
  • Sense of urgency and pro-activeness
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media. Including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising social media campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Excellent written and communication skills with emphasis on proofreading and grammar
  • Detail oriented with proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
  • Excels at research, is able to identify trends, threats and opportunities in social media content
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities  based on organizational needs

Director of Corporate and Event Sales

SUMMARY                                         

The Director of Corporate & Event Sales will grow sponsor / client relationships for Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. and Henry Maier Festival Park.  Working collaboratively with colleagues, the position will have responsibility to identify, develop, solicit, manage and retain relationships and revenue streams for Summerfest, other events produced by MWF or the Summerfest Foundation and rental of the facility.  This position will also take a leadership role in developing relationships to help support the launch new events.                                              

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.                               

  • Brings expertise and experience to prospecting new relationships, developing comprehensive proposals, negotiating new business and retaining current clients.  Actively engages in each step of the sales cycle on behalf of Summerfest, MWF-produced events and the Summerfest Foundation.  
  • Engages in outside sales efforts for all sponsorships, programs and venue rental business, directly managing a portfolio of clients valued at $1MM+.
  • Creates new opportunities and saleable inventory to increase annual organizational revenues.
  • Working with colleagues, establish and manage revenue, expense and select programmatic budgets, including forecasting and planning to meet overall goals.
  • Partners closely with colleagues to create multi-channel promotions including media partners in an effort to maximize client results and event revenues.
  • Manage the Event Sales and Sponsorship Coordinator, who will have with responsibility to support event sponsorships, business to business programs, exhibitors, independent events and private rental of Henry Maier Festival Park.
  • Assists in the management of on-site execution of sponsorships and related programming for all MWF-produced events.        
  • Assists in managing the sponsor fulfillment reporting process, including information collection and organization.
  • Track sales team metrics, analyze findings and report data to leadership on a regular basis.                  

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

  • A proven track record of sales success in a related field through ten years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge and sales acumen in sponsorships, events, promotions and corporate hospitality and ticketing programs
  • A bachelor’s degree, or higher, from an accredited college or University
  • A positive, “can-do” attitude with a high level of customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate organizational vision
  • Well-developed project management skills, organizational skills, time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects

SUMMARY                                        

The Event Sales & Sponsorships Coordinator will provide support to manage and grow client relationships for Summerfest, events produced by Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. and Henry Maier Festival Park.  Providing expert organizational and administrative support for major event sponsors and partners, this role will interface with a variety of external clients, internal colleagues and vendors to ensure goals are met / exceeded.  This position will also have responsibility to actively generate new relationships and revenue streams for Summerfest, other events produced by MWF or the Summerfest Foundation and rental of the facility.                                      

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following.  Other duties may be assigned.                               

  • Support sales efforts for sponsorships, programs and venue rental business, assisting with proposal management, contracting, and fulfilment and reporting processes.
  • Generate sales for and execute the mobile marketing program for Summerfest and other MWF-produced events.        
  • Participate in sales presentations with prospective sponsors, building client base over time.
  • Manage sponsor deliverables and fulfillment for Summerfest, Rock `n Sole Run presented by BMO Harris Bank, and new events, serving as liaison between MWF departments and sponsors.                          
  • Assist in the on-site execution of sponsorships and related programming for all MWF-produced event.  Specifically, oversee logistical coordination and execution of on-site sponsor operational elements, including free admission programs, gate giveaways, product sampling, signage, display areas, VIP hospitality, etc.                                               
  • Work closely with colleagues to support multi-channel promotions including media partners.
  • Coordinate contract process, invoicing, payment collection and post-event recaps for sponsor and mobile marketing programs.             
  • Support the track sales team metrics, analyze findings and report data to leadership on a regular basis.

  • Two - four years of relevant experience in a related field
  • A bachelor’s degree, or higher, from an accredited college or University
